About Romney, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Romney is part of the Lafayette Metro Statistical located in West-Central Indiana. It is found in Randolph Township within Tippecanoe County. Originally known as Columbia, Romney’s current name was taken from Romney, West Virginia. Settled in the mid-1800s, the local Romney Post Office has operated here since 1842.

Arguably the most well-known destination in Romney is Foxton Farm, a popular equestrian facility. This training center was once used for fox hunting, but it is now home to Purdue University’s equestrian program. Additionally, it stables the polo ponies used by the Purdue Polo Club.

In addition to Foxton Farm, there are several other interesting things to see and do in Romney. The Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad is found here, and visitors might also like to take a trip to the Fort Mill Ridge Civil War Trenches. Shopping destinations in the community also include the Trough General Store & Canoe Rentals and the Romney Toy Shop.

Romney is found within a humid continental climate zone like most of the Midwest. Residents can enjoy four distinct seasons throughout the year. This allows for many outdoor recreational activities, such as skiing and snowshoeing during the cold, winter months. Freezing temperatures are common overnight, so the right furnace is a wise investment to keep conditions comfortable and warm.

Outdoor activities are also popular during the spring and summer months, although some days are especially humid and hot. Daily highs reach into the 80s on average, but temperatures into the 90s are also common. If you reside in Romney, you’ll want a cool place to hide out during the hottest of days, and the right central air conditioner can help. Put your trust in your local HVAC service and repair technician to find the right system that will keep your home cool while minimizing your utility costs.
