About West Point, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The small community of West Point, Indiana is located in Tippecanoe County. Only about 600 people call this census-designated place home, although it is part of the larger Lafayette Metro Statistical Area. West Point is part of Wayne Township and is situated about .25 miles north of Flint Creek. Most residents are employed in nearby West Lafayette and Lafayette, and older students will complete their education at Lafayette’s McCutcheon High School.

With only several hundred residents, West Point itself is not home to any major attractions or tourist destinations. There are two restaurants located in the community: Eddie Joe’s Ice House and The Pour House, a local coffee shop. Fortunately, shopping, cultural opportunities, and recreation are located just a quick drive away in Lafayette or West Lafayette.

The Lafayette/West Lafayette area is a hub of industry and entertainment for the region. Golf enthusiasts may enjoy time at Coyote Crossing Golf Club or the Tee Off Golf 2 Driving Range. Art lovers might like to visit the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art or the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, and seasonal productions from the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra are also popular. Families with younger children might also enjoy an afternoon at Monster Mini Golf, the Imagination Station, or the Columbian Park Zoo.

The climate of West Point is typical of a humid continental zone. Summers are warm to hot, but humidity levels are high. While average highs reach into the 80s, when the dew point rises, it will feel even warmer. Severe thunderstorms are also common during the spring and summer seasons, so residents should consider their climate controls wisely. An Energy Star central air conditioner will provide affordable cooling at home.

Winters in the area are cold with moderate snowfall. Daytime highs reach into the 30s, but there are many nights in which temperatures fall below freezing. Residents will need to be prepared with a properly-serviced furnace before the season begins.
