 Lafayette Heating & Cooling opened its doors for business in June of 1997 with 5 employees, two vans, and no customer base. Since that time, the Company’s success has enabled expansion of its services and growth in size. The Company currently has 22 employees, 16 service vehicles, and a substantial residential, commercial, and industrial customer base. In addition to HVAC services offered since the inception of the Company, including HVAC service diagnostics and repairs, as well as installation of new equipment in existing homes and businesses, the Company added a plumbing division in January of 2001. The plumbing division provides service diagnostics, repairs and replacements, sewer pipe cleaning, water heater replacement, water softener sales and service and an array of other plumbing services. The addition of plumbing services to existing heating and cooling services was a perfect fit and is a major growth area for the Company. The division was formed so that the Company’s growing customer base could make one call for HVAC and plumbing repairs and installations. The Company’s goal is to be a one-call company that can service almost any HVAC or plumbing problem or replace older, outdated equipment and fixtures. The Company changed its name to Lafayette Heating, Cooling & Plumbing in 2001 to reflect the additional services offered to its customers.
Mark Roberts founded Lafayette Heating & Cooling after two national companies arrived in Lafayette in 1996 and acquired three of the top four HVAC companies in the area. His vision and philosophy for a successful business is simple. Lafayette Heating & Cooling's main focus is to serve its customer. The word ‘service’ is often over-used, and even misused. A lot of companies say ‘service’ but actually treat the customer as if it’s inconvenient to work for them. When Lafayette Heating & Cooling says “WE’LL SERVE YOU,” we mean it! Roberts started the Company with his strong commitment to serving customers, which he developed through his career experiences in sales, marketing, and engineering in the residential and light commercial heating, ventilation & air conditioning areas. He also recognized that to set up a quality, service-oriented company, it is essential to employ top-notch, talented team members. By surrounding himself with top-quality team members, Roberts has realized his vision to provide quality service that is second to no one in the local market. Some of those top quality team members include:
- Mark Roberts, President and Commercial & Industrial Sales. Roberts is a 16-year veteran to the industry. Mark’s primary duties are planning for the company, managing all managers, overseeing the sales department, all marketing, and engineering of mechanical systems for the commercial & industrial market. Mark works closely with all manufacturers of the equipment promoted by the Company.
- Randy Beaver, Vice President and Service Manager. When Beaver joined the Company in December, 1997, he brought 21-years of experience in the residential, commercial, and industrial service areas. He is well respected in the industry. Randy is in charge of all service training, fleet management, safety program administration, supervision, and day-to-day operations of all service divisions.
- Suzie Kelsey, Customer Service Department Manager. Suzie is an 11-year veteran in the industry. Her main areas of focus are customer scheduling and customer satisfaction. She manages team members in her Department and oversees all service scheduling for the heating, air conditioning and plumbing, as well as preventative maintenance and service repair areas.
- John Spitznagel, Heating & Air Conditioning Assistant Service Manager. Spitznagel is an 11-year veteran to the industry. John primary position is to support HVAC service manager. John is also in charge of keeping company inventory current, and supports all service managers and customer service.
- Tom Meacham, Heating & Air Conditioning Installation Manager. Meacham is a 20-year veteran to the industry. Tom’s primary position is to lead the installation department. Tom is a sheet metal artist and trains all of his team members in the craft of working sheet metal. Tom is also in charge of scheduling, day-to-day pre-inspection of projects, and assists the sales team in estimating projects.
- Rick Beaver, Residential & Light Commercial Sales. Beaver is a 3-year veteran to the HVAC industry. Rick’s primary duty is to engineer and educate LHC&P customers on options that are available in heating and air conditioning equipment, duct systems, and water treatment equipment. Rick works closely with the president of the company and with the installation manager.
- Dorline Harris, Accounting Manager. Dorline has over 15-years experience in customer service. Dorline primarily tracks all accounts payable and receivable. She is also responsible for human relations and benefits, including payroll. She watches for and corrects inefficiencies that occur in our top-notch system. She also supports the customer service department.
